Jasprit Bumrah Shines, KL Rahul & Rishabh Pant Steady India on Day 2 at Lord’s | India vs England 3rd Test Highlights

Cr

The second day of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s brought excitement and a bit of drama. England started strong with a total of 387 runs, but India’s Jasprit Bumrah turned the game around with a brilliant five-wicket haul. After struggling on Day 1 with a flat pitch that offered no movement, Indian bowlers made a solid comeback on Day 2. Bumrah was the hero of the day, while Nitish Kumar Reddy also impressed by taking two important wickets in just one over on Day 1. England’s lower order, especially Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse, added some crucial runs before getting bowled out in 112.3 overs.

In reply, India got off to a shaky start. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed early in Jofra Archer’s fiery first over. Soon after, captain Shubman Gill, who has been in great form throughout the series, was dismissed for just 18 runs by Chris Woakes. This was a rare failure for Gill in this series. Karun Nair looked promising and played some stylish strokes, but his innings ended at 40 due to a stunning catch by Joe Root. These early blows put India under pressure, but KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant stepped up when the team needed them the most.

KL Rahul looked calm and composed as he played a responsible knock. He scored a solid half-century and stayed unbeaten at the crease. On the other end, Rishabh Pant played his natural aggressive game while being careful not to throw away his wicket. Together, the duo built a steady partnership that helped India reach 145/3 at stumps on Day 2. They still trail England by 242 runs, but with two experienced batters at the crease, India will hope to close the gap on Day 3.

This match has already seen some great performances and promises more action ahead. With Bumrah’s pace, KL’s patience, and Pant’s power, India still has a strong chance to fight back. The pitch is slowly beginning to help the bowlers, and the third day could be crucial for both teams. Fans are hoping for another exciting day at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground as the battle for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy continues.
